Solar Cell helpp!!?
I bought a solar cell just recently. I went to hook up the leads to the ends of a hobby motor. However, to my dismay, I found that the motor was not running. Is the solar cell unpowerful? The specifications on the cell are 3 volts at 20 miliamperes. Can someone help me out? I am trying to make a solar powered car using this cell as the chief source of energy.
More importantly what is the motor rated at? If your motor is supposed to be 12V and 1Amp, then you’re not going anywhere. Also were you outside on a bright day? Were you inside under a very strong uv light? There are many reasons why this would not work, if the cell is rated at 3V 20mA, you need to understand this is the ‘best’ your cell can do. You need to buy a cell thats larger then then motor size.
