How good is the prospects for photovotaics in the future ?

Im Vishanth from an Electronics and Communication background ! i’d like to know how good a career in Photovoltaics will be in the future ? I’m planning to do my Masters in PV from UNSW Sydney !! I’m asking this question because i feel Pv is in the growing stage and not completely developed as a major Player !! i’d like to know how good will the prospects in terms of career growth be 5-10 years down the lane ?? And am i taking a big risk leaving other developed industries such as Energy,Telecom and IT sector ; And can you please let me know the pros and cons of PV industry !! And which are the places where PV is likely to develop / or already developed ?? And some of the major Companies in this sector ??
