I have a PV (photovoltaics) systems question concerning Voltages. Please help?

Suppose you want to use a 40’ run of 12 AWG stranded copper to connect a 24v pv source circuit to a disconnect on the dc side of the inverter. You expect a current of 12 A in the conductor.What is the voltage, and is it acceptable??

it is acceptable if the load is very small
as the load is increased the voltage will collapse at the inverter causing more current to be drawn causing more voltage…

it is highly recommended to use the 40 feet at the high voltage (120/240V) side

for example a 480W load will consume more than 40 Amps (probably over 50) due to efficiency
