pv and the phantoms

I have a Panasonic TV year 1998, model PV-M2768 and the TV now displays the in-store features. How to stop it?
The tv works fine except for this phantom appearance. I don’t have the owners manual and don’t want to take it in for costly service. There must be a simple solution.
Press and hold the repeat-play button for five seconds and the auto display mode will disappear.
