Is there a more cool and fun must-have pool accessory than a solar swimming pool cover?! There are so many practical reasons to have one, but beyond that, they are also fascinating pieces of environmental technology. It is cool to think of having a pool cover made of space-age type material covering your pool – sort of a futuristic feeling.
Not only that, but it is also fun to be more ‘green’ by using a solar cover. It is important for the environment too, to do whatever we can to be more eco-friendly. A pool cover will save water loss, so that you do not need to replenish the water as often; the cover will also save on electricity costs by keeping your pool warmer without using more electricity. This is being very environmentally friendly and wise, as you are both saving water, a valuable natural resource, and using sunlight, an already plentiful natural source of energy.
You can keep unwanted debris out of your pool, too, which also makes it much easier to maintain your pool. You won’t have to do the sometimes unpleasant task of dredging out twigs, leaves, bugs, etc. For me, this would be a definite plus, since anything that reduces maintenance time and effort I appreciate greatly. The less time having to clean your pool, the more you can enjoy it.
You will definitely like the whole idea of being more economical at the same time as being eco-friendly. A pool cover undoubtedly is economical. Think of the money you can save by not having to heat your pool so much or put water in all the time! The initial cost of the pool cover is nothing compared to the money you can save over the years with lower electricity and water usage costs. Your investment will be recouped in a very short time. So you are being very practical in the financial sense, while also making life easier for yourself – and creating more leisure time to enjoy your pool.
And imagine warmer water, too – nobody likes getting in a cold pool! With a solar pool cover, you won’t ever have to dip your toe in a cold pool; just dive right in. The cover can keep your water as much as 10-15 degrees warmer.
Envision pool parties in April, May, September, maybe even October. With a solar cover, this would become a very real possibility. Extend the season, extend the enjoyment!
