Have you ever thought about changing your television service? For the longest time, I didn’t have a television service outside of an antenna, so I did quite a bit of research before I finally choose a service. I wanted to get something that fit my lifestyle and allowed me to watch all of the channels I loved. I know you want the same, so here are a few basics to choosing your television service.
1) If you never watch television, don’t get a television service at all. I know many families who love to read or exercise, so they don’t use their television that often. When they do use it, it’s to watch movies. So, if you don’t have a television and are getting along fine without one, don’t let anyone talk you into getting a television service. It will be a waste of time and money for you.
2) If you only watch the four or five basic channels, cable might be your best bet. Many people who watch limited amounts of television only watch the basic lower channels: CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, etc. However, antennas will not work to get these channels for much longer. On February 17th, everything will change to digital. So, I recommend cable. Cable television will not be affected by the switch to digital, and their basic package is less than $10, giving you all of the basic lower channels. However, watch out for their installation fees.
3) If you want more channels but you don’t want to pay out a ton of money, check into satellite television. Directv is one of my favorites because they offer many different packages and specials. In fact, you can find just about any combination of channels to fit your needs in one of their special packages. Direct TV specials will cost you less than normal satellite packages, especially since they offer free installation.
4) If you want to spend a fortune on television, then I can’t really help you. I did my research to cover the most channels possible for the least amount of money. But I’m sure you can find the perfect television service for you if you just keep looking. Never fear; television service companies are always looking to take as much of your money as possible.
