Where can I buy Crystalline Silicon or another substance that is great for Solar Cells?

I would like to learn more about creating Solar Cells, and start to create my own. However, I dont know where I could buy Silicon. Is there anywhere online that I can order it or an element near it that could be used as a substitute?

Silicon is one of the limiting factor in manufacturing solar panels. Until recently microchip companies buy up the suppply adn there was a shortage. Now there has been improvement of manufacturing Silican disk adn the slow down on the computer company makes it easier to buy it. I think you can find it on alibaba. You can find anything there. Of course that is why there is so much contamination coming from China. They look up on the internet to buy stuff rather than making long term connection to make sure that their supplier are reliable.
