Locate the studs on the inside or outside of the wall and measure the distance between them. The awning has to be mounted directly to the studs or headers to be able to withstand high winds.

In the center of the stud you need to drill small holes an inch below the line of chalk. Draw a level, vertical line through the hole to show you where the middle of the stud is and fill the other hole with silicon sealant.

Now it is time to mount the awning bracket to the wall along the vertical line you made. Follow the provided instructions carefully at this point because each awning is different depending on how large or small they are.

You will then install the hood onto the mounting bracket and insert the bar of the outdoor awning. Make sure that everything is secured properly. Unravel the awning and then adjust the pitch to where you want it to be.
